Inmate work assignment record cards, [ca. 1915-1932]

This series consists of approximately 4,200 inmate record cards (3" x 5") that were probably used by Auburn's principal keeper to record locations of inmate work assignments. Assignments included work locations within Auburn Prison as well as in the various prison work camps. The cards relate to inmates who were discharged during the years 1920, 1927-1932. For each inmate, the record card includes inmate name and number, length of sentence, location of each work assignment, date each work assignment began, date discharged, and method of discharge (parole, transfer, commutation, etc.).
